Hi there, I’m after some advice about thermal insulation. My garage is connected to my neighbour’s house (living area and bedroom). I’d like to turn part of the garage into a study and I am wondering what walls would need thermal insulation. In particular, would I need to insulate the wall between my garage and my neighbour’s house? I’m pretty sure it is not currently insulated, but I wonder if it’s necessary to do thermal insulation as the wall is not directly exposed to the outside.
If thermal insulation is not required I would still soundproof the wall using Mass Loading Vinyl and timber acoustic panels. I’m not sure I could do a stud wall due to space limitations.
Please let me know if you have any thoughts. I’ve attached some photos. Thanks for your help!
