Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation 1 Sep 23, 2022 8:33 am Hi all I recently had a small studio office built by Aarons Outdoor. It comes "raw", so you have to paint the exterior and finish the interior yourself (this keeps down the costs of the initial purchase) You'll have to forgive the lack of proper terms here, I'm not exactly a handyman I plan on installing insulation batts in the walls before gyprocking, however I'm not sure about the ceiling. There's not alot of space available between the internal supports for the roof and because it's a small office, I don't want to lose too much headspace by installing anything flush with the bottom of the beams. I'd like to keep the exposed beam look There is sisilation paper installed already, but I'm concerned it's not going to achieve too much when compared to batt filled walls One suggestion I had was to use foilboard and install it above the support beams, in the middle between the beams to use magnets on the back of the board to "stick" it to the roof itself. And then install gyprock against the top beams which runs the length of the room. How I prevent that from sagging between the support beams I'm not sure of though Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My home office is hot with computer equipment running virtually 18 hours a day.
