We have owned this place for 9 months and it was here when we got the place. For anyone confused by the Darlic reference, this is the unit. It leads me to believe that electricity is going to it at night only, so it only heats hot water at night. I want to refill the tank twice daily, once at night and once in the middle of the day (we have solar panels so most of the work will be done by them) is this something that can be done by myself? Or do I call someone? If I should call someone, who should I call? Pretty new to home ownership so just looking for pointers 👍 Re: Updating frequency of water heating on 'the Darlic' 2May 31, 2021 7:09 pm I have a unit by Sanden which I run for a couple of hours in the afternoon. If I wanted I can change the times myself. Below is a link to your units instructions which seem to imply you could change the times, and swith it off when you are on holiday. https://www.chromagen.com.au/images/Hea ... Re: Updating frequency of water heating on 'the Darlic' 3Jun 01, 2021 6:46 pm Yeah, that does not seem to work, unfortunately. Pressing any of the buttons in the manual seems to do nothing. Except if you press them before 6am. It is as if the power to the unit is cut off after 6am and the generation of the hot water is not being moderated by the units controls at all. Re: Updating frequency of water heating on 'the Darlic' 4Jun 02, 2021 9:52 pm If your hot water heater is using concessional rate power, then I think it is wired that way and the electricity company dictates the off-peak times during the early morning when it will heat. You can see whether this is the case on your electricity bill. It is possible to change this, but you will need an electrician and will pay considerably more than you do now. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good hydronic in slab heating speacialist who may be able to help me with an existing system and wether or not it may need a seperator… 0 3448 18 74247 From what I know about water tanks (I've been working with a client on them for a few years now) is this - The concrete can last a lifetime if they don't crack for some… 2 6454 |
