Hi, I have a small apartment 2 bedroom 1 bath on the coast in Townsville, Queensland. I have a very hard time keeping the humidity at an acceptable level. There is one split system A/C in the living room, and one in each bedroom. I also own a dehumidifier that struggles to get the humidity below about 65% without additional help from the A/C. I can control the humidity using the A/C but once that goes off the humidity rises at a rapid rate to about 70-75%
The humidity outside until about May is pretty much always above 60% and overnight reaches 95 to sometimes 100%, so the whole usual plan of opening windows to ventilate the house doesn't really help here, it just lets more humid air in especially at night. I have blocked any air leaks from windows and doors and I live alone and I always dry out shower and sinks straight after use, I have checked pipes for leaks and there is none.
I just want to know what I can do to keep the humidity down but not use so much power. Any help is appreciated.
