Browse Forums Heating, Cooling & Insulation Re: Ducted evaporative advice (VIC) 5Dec 22, 2020 10:12 am Carmen With two story homes the issue alot of the time is getting the ductwork from the top roof space through voids to the ground floor. Because it is evaporative cooling it is based off high air changes meaning the ductwork has to be oversized to accomodate the high amount of airflow. In a lot of cases getting oversized voids for evap ductwork can be problematic due to floor joists, beams etc etc. Thanks for the reply Carmen. We ended up getting another quote and the installer really took the time to review our plan, investigate the whole house (including in roof and voids) and explain the pros and cons. The size of the duct that would feed the bedrooms would have to be slightly too big to for the proposed void, not by much though, so we're still considering it. But thanks for the reply, you really hit the nail on the head, I posted this question on many forums and Reddit and didn't much response.
