We have been really happy with their range and their service (and most importantly their price!). although we loved the pivot door system, we didn't go for it due to the expense (more than $1500 for the smallest door) . we are using piano hinges on our wide entrance door instead.

Remember our house? We have the same door as the display home. We also love it! The glass will be translucent. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Doors from Corinthian! 9Oct 12, 2007 8:01 pm Hmm - aheavy door should not be hard to open - but if it hard a closer on it that would make it hard to open.
I heavy door on good hinges should be open easily - but with the obvious kinetic energy behind it. Steve Re: Doors from Corinthian! 10Oct 12, 2007 8:12 pm Specks on the door…..
Our Pivot door system handles the weight of an imposing timber door with total ease and functionality. Being a total system, Pivot comes complete with commercial quality pivot hardware, factory fitted to our high quality jambs and pivot doors. I just push and push and push and my little feet run on the spot but nothing happens. It's kind of embarrassing . The door's look stunning - just build up some arm strength before you get them put in! Re: Doors from Corinthian! 14Aug 23, 2009 8:22 pm We are getting the Sunburst one, and WERE going to get the PIVOT hinge for that very reason. I am tiny too bmp. The reason we didn't get it is because (and there is a thread about this somewhere) the gap on the other side of the door (opposite to the handle side) becomes larger than normal when the door is opened, as it pivots and swings open. It's enough, I believe, for a hand or small arm to fit through and the weight of the door closing on the pivot is enough to cut it off. NICE. Not a risk we were willing to take. THat's just us. I guess I will build up muscles opening that door when we get it. Surely it couldn't be that difficult. I think that they will put very heavy door hinges on it (instead of the pivot). My DH tells me that it will be very well balanced and it will be fine. It had better be. http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg89/leah6363/2009-Sunburst_GrandDouble_Trans1.jpg www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Doors from Corinthian! 16Sep 25, 2009 6:14 pm Hey themax, Just realised, we are getting the same doors. Fell in love with them back when we first signed on to build back in Jan. Husband and I decided what a good way to use a bonus from the stimulus package - buy a door each Can't wait to see them on your house, so we can actually see them on a real house, rather that just in a brochure. I liked it because it was different and still a bit of a wow door. We could only get one as our entry isn't wide enough for two. I think it will still be nice though. We also asked for Opaque glass as I personally prefer that at night. Can't wait for you to see it because that will mean it's hanging in my doorway! www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com Re: Doors from Corinthian! 19Jan 16, 2011 10:24 am i have just bought the same door though a 1200 pivot on ebay for $325.it was a reject from a builder cos it had some staining on the face of the merbau.some 120grit paper and a palm sander soon got it looing like new again. as for the pivot action you can adjust the closer to slow down the closing speed. We are looking for sliding doors which are 5 metres tall. There are a few European options. Any manufacturers in Australia or distributors? 0 5311 Pls help!
