(Nearly) minimalism

Just remember to keep it simple, the look you are going for is a modern one, although still very stylish.

I think you will be fine. The dominance in your home will be your furniture, so good thing you are buying the really nice quality gear, as this will be your decoration. Anything else can come later as you get the feel for your home. Which is important.

I love your style...how about simple but elegant?

I am one for minimalistion too.

Currently my wife and I are planning our first home. So far for minimalism we have made the following descions.

1. White everthing
2. Large white open walls for very large paintings
3. No cornice, or door jambs
4. No skirting boards [maybe , looking for a thin white piece of plastic instead]
5. Plain doors painted with two pac epoxy and oven baked [like a new white car]
6. Furniture will be coloured , no white furniture
7. Floors dark bamboo
8. Stainless steel fittings to everything [thats door knobs taps etc , small ones if possible]
9. We need that special white paint that doesnt colour with age .
10 Half of the windows will be high on the high walls for light and looking at the sky/stars [no views on my block]
11 High windows allows for more big long art on the wallls
12 White bathroom tiles and glass with the floor the similiar colour as the sand from the beach.
13 White allow windows and shutters , lots of lourved windows too , in white
14 Big double opening sliding doors to outside living

If anyone finds some specific links to this style of design , could you post them back here , that would be cool.

Also any ideas on protecting the bottom of the walls with out a big clunky skirting board?
