Re: Internal Glass Sliding Doors 3Mar 02, 2009 4:01 pm I posted last year asking if anyone had seen doors like this in Australia as I need to cover my laundry area which is to the rear of our renovated bathroom. Unfortunately I have still not been able to find doors of this type, (apart from Hafele whose customer service is poor) so if anyone knows of a supplier in New South Wales I will be eternally grateful and I may even be motivated to commence our kitchen renovation. At the moment it all seems just too hard. Re: Internal Glass Sliding Doors 5Mar 02, 2009 5:41 pm If y'all buy them, I'll make them...

How many could you bring back with you What sort of pricing are we looking at Ed..... very tempting indeed Cheers Michael He wants a dream home theatre - she wants a dream kitchen! Re: Internal Glass Sliding Doors 9Mar 05, 2009 8:05 pm They look very nice and should be a fairly easy install.
My concerns would be mostly the weight of the glass from both a usability perspective and mounting. Re: Internal Glass Sliding Doors 10Mar 05, 2009 8:20 pm Quote: If y'all buy them, I'll make them... How much would you pay Ed, Are you aware that I am in Sydney? I actually need 3 doors with a double track so that I can access my laundry appliances. This is where 'ít is all so hard' comes in. However feel free to contact me if you are still interested. Quote: My concerns would be mostly the weight of the glass from both a usability perspective and mounting. This is the main problem as the Hafele salesman I initially spoke to gave me a rough estimate of the weight and it was huge. I cannot remember the exact figure but the glass also had to be cut to fit the mounts and it appeared to be a specialised job. I would be happy to be proven wrong. Also, I do not want runners on the floor and this adds another dimension to the level of difficulty. Re: Internal Glass Sliding Doors 11Mar 13, 2009 11:32 am We have one of these dors at my work (in Perth) so i guess you can get them soewhere in australia.
But... It is very heavy, and you have to open and close it very slowly to stop it coming off the rail or bouncing back from the stopper at either end. The only mention of them has been in sites catering for office fit outs - usually of the expensive large scale type. I can just see me ringing one of these firms and asking them to quote me for my laundry I am still trying to build up the courage. But thank you for your post as at least I know they exist in real life - not just on the internet. I will PM you on the weekend (if I can work out how to do this as I am technically challenged ) with further details and pictures (Oh my god! Another challenge! ). However I am a little confused as to the logistics when you are in a different state. However, at this stage I am desperate. (Oops, I shouldn't have said that; now the price will go up ) Re: glass door 17Mar 14, 2009 3:29 am paddy Any idea on the pricing muzzman, I am sure quite a few people on the forum would love to get a few for their houses. How many could you bring back with you What sort of pricing are we looking at Ed..... very tempting indeed Cheers Michael They are from a company called Foaporte, based in Italy, and according to their web site all the doors are hand-made to measure. You could probably email them to get a price, but if Ed can make them, then I would say it would be better to support local business!! And you'd be paying a lot less shipping! The solution is simple then. I'll just have to return to Italy. I spent 10 weeks there in 2007 and I have been looking for a reason to return. Seriously, I am still looking for a solution but I have collected a file of Australian web sites while searching. None are quite suitable for what I want as I am determined not to have tracks on the floor but they may suit other readers of this thread. Some are: http://www.fethers.com/Fethers/Fethers_gwt.html http://www.mfgs.com.au/prod_rsmanual_sliding.shtml http://www.tornex.com.au/ http://www.customcote.com.au/interior-s ... doors.html There are many more of a similar style if you search. Re: Internal Glass Sliding Doors 19Apr 27, 2009 11:34 pm muzzman I love it! Very elegant and classic with modern touch. Okay, then the choice is really about the build quality of the door itself which means the brand name.
