Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 29, 2020 9:03 am Hi, we have a house built on a sloping block, built late 80s. Along one side, there is a patterned concrete path about 2m wide, that has a number of "steps" or levels that are themselves about 2m long. Unfortunately the concrete is right against the house, and in spots is above and covered over the weephole / vents in the brickwork, and in other spots its halfway along the weephole. There is no foam between the concrete path and the house, and doesn't look like there was ever any caulking done. We are now finding that water is getting in under the house from this area. My wife is against ripping the concrete up (its about 10m long running down the side of the house). I am wondering if there is an option of cutting the concrete where it sits against the house, and installing a grate drain. It would be a reasonable size job, but could be done. However, how would I run the channel down the steps? the channel would also need to be stepped, so that the water went from one height to the next? Also, would just caulking between the concrete and the house help with the water getting inside? Thanks Had a new driveway installed with a 6 metre long 150 x 150 channel drain and have since found out it has 4cm of water sitting at the bottom below the side pipe… 0 4721 Firstly the ableflex that has been installed needs (manufactures specification) a sealant cap over the top, preventing water draining down between the slab and the… 3 7776 Grab a hose, insert it at the top of the inlet/down pipe and turn the water on and see where the water is escaping from. Then you'll know. 3 8465 |
