Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 12, 2020 11:13 am Morning all, I've got a well-established couch lawn (I'm not sure exactly what type it is), but over the last few months I've noticed a section of it that appears to be starting to be overrun with another type of grass. The side by side photo has my original lawn on the left, and the new interloper on the right. As you can see, they are relatively similar, but definitely different grasses. The new one is quite soft underfoot, whereas my old one is a bit spikier to walk on. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The bit I've circled in red is what it looks like in the ground. Thanks. Re: Please help me identify this lawn 3May 06, 2020 2:28 pm Every now and then I do get paspalum, but it looks more like the photo below (ie. fairly isolated and quite broad leaves). The one I'm battling has a finer leaf and blends in fairly well with my current couch lawn. On some days, in the right light, it is almost indistinguishable from the rest of the lawn, but on other days it is a bit shinier and greener (vs. the duller-green of the couch).
