Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 25, 2020 1:04 pm Hi - I’m worried my 1 year old wollemi pine is dead but I’m hoping someone can help me rescue it! Basically, a month ago it was looking pretty healthy, then I went away for 2 weeks at the start of January and came back and it looked dead. I’m based in Sydney where we’ve had some extreme heat days (high 30s, 40+). I checked the moisture level in the soil (stuck my finger in about 5cm) and gave it some more water. Pot is about 300m diameter by 300mm deep. I used the potting mix as recommended by the garden store where I bought but have not replaced it since (was planning to do so at the end of summer). See below a photo where it was looking healthy a month ago, and then a few current ones where it looks terrible. Thanks for any help/advice you can provide! I would move it into a cooler spot in your garden and give it plenty of water. Pots outside often need to be watered daily through heat waves. If you're not able to do this then you can bury pots partially underground to keep them cooler during hotter months. I've just had a look at the website. The company are just building broker's.
