It's currently ~50mm in height and after looking online it should be around the 20-30mm mark! When you walk on it your feet sink down a little and it's sort of been like that ever since the turf got laid ~5yrs ago. Recently I rented out the house and when I moved back in, I noticed there was an area that looked really nice where a dog was running along it all the time. The grass in that spot is nice and low and more compact. So where to from here to get a lower lawn height? Scalp and de-thatch? Scalp below the 20mm mark, fertilise and water, then in future cut at at 20mm? I'm keen to get it to a lower height but only if the end result the turf becomes thicker as that's what I'm primarily after. It will be neat but you won't have much freeboard.
