It is a small block with only 2.4 metre to 800metre space from house to retaining wall on the all 3 sides. There is one side with all the services installed (huge air con, hws, gas pad) - leaving minimal space. Thinking of concreting down this side of the house. Is it good practice to install a 300m wide gravel portion at base of retaining wall to allow water to drain below? Concern is that will have to pull out weeds in future as opposed to full area of concreting (no maintenance). Underground pipework for surface storm pits avail. Any suggestions would be helpful to landscaping ideas to side of the house.
