The botanical name where it says Yucca Elephantipes is a pretty graphic one.
Elephant = very big!
I see and notice so many of you plant these along a pool, close to the house or in narrow garden beds by the drive.
Just a heads up that these are massive plants!!!!
Homeone member, Becster, can just look next door to see how big a small one can be.
The base of these plants are very big.
What you buy in your garden centre is often larger cuttings from very large parent plants. The smaller pots are grown from tissue culture.
The landscape industry has a bit to answer for when landscape architects use these like walls on a house. They will use them everywhere and don't the masses love it.
There wouldn't be a pool landscape mag that doesn't show them planted along a pool with little space for their expansion.
