Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 26, 2018 9:38 pm Hi everyone. I just replaced sugar cane mulch in my garden with some 1inch wide hoop pine bark mulch and have run into a bit of a problem. I watered the garden for close to 30 min tonight then randomly checked some spots in the garden and for the most part the ground was completely dry. The main reason for choosing this mulch was it's supposed ability to allow water to pass through to the soil underneath. I mulched to a depth of 75mm, well below the 100-150mm recommend on most landscaping supply websites. Have I done something wrong or should I have mulched even thinner? Any feedback or assistance would be much appreciated. Photos of garden attached in case they are helpful.
