Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 19, 2018 10:35 pm Hello friends, I need a piece of advice. I've bought a house recently and decided to make my own zen garden. I have a small backyard so there's not lots of space, to begin with. I was thinking about installing a vertical garden. Has anyone had any experience? Can you guys recommend any supplier from Australia? Thanks Stella L Re: Vertical Gardens or not? 2Jul 19, 2018 10:47 pm The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Vertical Gardens or not? 3Jul 19, 2018 10:55 pm bashworth Thank you so much for your answer. A DIY solution is not going to work for me. I'm not a creative person nor am I good at following instructions. Also, I don't have the time to do it myself. There’s wide surface that needs to be covered. I need someone to get it done. The surface of the wall that should be covered is 3x4 meters and it looks really bad. I asked my colleague for a piece of advice today and he told me that I should call the professionals if I want the quality. I've asked a few friends too and they recommended the same supplier. Hence, I've decided to make an inquiry about these fancy vertical gardens Did anyone have any experience with this company? What do you think I should do? Unless you’re hands on and can focus on maintaining it, I would suggest going with succulents and a few random pieces of art. Your outdoor area should reflect you! If you like the manicured look, go for it. If you want to lift your outdoor area, dare to be a little different and make it pop! You’ll be right 😉 Re: Vertical Gardens or not? 6Jul 24, 2018 7:56 pm I was looking into professional one via Papps. They came out and never quoted. I had large areas so Was likely to be over 10k I had a landscape designer out due to build issues impacting on landscaping and now have galvanised steel panels up and will have star jasmine planted and climb over them. Less maintenance. I love vertical gardens but choose plants carefully to be low maintenance and see if you can install an irrigation system to make maintenance easy. I agree that my outdoor area should reflect me. I will make it a little different. I'm making my small meditation area at the moment. It looks lovely, I'm so excited. Thanks again. Gaudi, Thank you very much for your answer. Luckily, my mom gave me the same piece of advice when it comes to choosing the right plants. The plants I've chosen are low maintenance. Everything is just fine. I think that roses are great, they don't need much maintaining, but they can't provide the full coverage.
