Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 07, 2018 12:31 pm Hi all, To save on costs, I am going to lay the soil and turf myself. I am nervous about the process, because i haven't done it before. Is it true that the thicker the depth of soil, the better it is for the grass and the roots? If so, what would you recommend as the depth? Would it just be turf underlay and then the Turf on top? Was it hard to lay down the turf? Our turf wasn’t hard to lay because they were in manageable sizes. Just need a good smooth base to work with or it will be lumpy.
