Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 07, 2018 2:00 pm We are at the point where we need to choose and pay the deposit on our fencing. We have an idea of the look we want to achieve but unsure on the kind of fencing we need to look for quotes on. We have a part weatherboard elevation to front and side (we are a corner block). We also have weatherboard on the exterior of the alfresco. We want to retain this weatherboard look to run on the fencing. So we are looking for a fencing with a horizontal board or a look that resembles this. We want the fencing to look good from both outside and inside the garden. Does anyone have any ideas on if such a product exists? Also any recommendations for fencing contractors in Perth? Re: Fencing Questions 2May 19, 2018 3:31 pm One of the things that's not ideal about horizontally oriented fences, is that they're climbable. None the less, it's a pretty common thing to see in cedar https://www.pinterest.com.au/search/pin ... horizontal Also possible to do it in tubular steel https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/68734376143 https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/132715520246729792 I know some of the tubular steel options can be bought as kits, and you can then choose what kind of slatting you want to use, e.g. timber or synthetic. Depending on how handy you are, you could work with a steel fabricator to design exactly what you want. Otherwise, easiest would be to work with a fencing company. Usually they'll specialise in either timber or steel. Some probably do both. Hope that helps. Re: Fencing Questions 3May 21, 2018 10:43 am Good point about being climbable. We will need to consider this when choosing the gap size between slats. We have some quotes coming in now for both wooden and metal so I think we're getting closer. Cheers for replying.
