Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Sep 14, 2017 10:41 am Hi, I am in Perth and am amateur, but loving learning about gardening. I bought some geraniums and a blueberry tree from Bunnings several months ago. At first: flower happiness. I used seasol and trimmed regularly. Then some bugs invaded (unsure what) but the inside of the leaves has a darkish hue. I bought some bug killer (organic) from Bunnings but no joy. In short, I trimmed back completely but they grow again with these darkish hues , and then the flowers look horrible - if they ever blossom. Also, another plant is growing in both pots. Unsure if weed or normal. There are lots of birds around so maybe they dropped some seeds. I have photos on my computer but unsure how to post here. Re: Help with my geraniums (and blueberry tree) from bugs pl 2Sep 14, 2017 10:42 am unsure how to edit too, but many thanks for any positive suggestions/tips. I googled but could only find info on caterpillars (which I cannot see obvious activity from.) Re: Help with my geraniums (and blueberry tree) from bugs pl 3Sep 14, 2017 4:46 pm Pics would help. Install Tapatalk on your phone and take some photos with your phone. Just come back here and post using Tapatalk and its really easy to track updates and posts on threads you've created or subscribed to Re: Help with my geraniums (and blueberry tree) from bugs pl 5Sep 15, 2017 8:44 am Hi, Anyone? Can anyone identify the plant in the bottom right of the bottom picture? Should I remove that plant? Why the discoloured leaves of the geranium plant? Thank you Re: Help with my geraniums (and blueberry tree) from bugs pl 6Sep 15, 2017 2:55 pm The dark band in normal, and indicates this is a zonal geranium. (Zonal due to the dark pattern on the leaves.) The other plant is a weed so get rid of it. How did it get there? That is always a mystery. Birds, wind, contaminated mulch or potting mix, or just plain magic... Who knows. Spiders are good. Don't worry about them. Hello. I just bought a few acres in Habana, Mackay, and my horses seem to love hanging around under this tree. I would like to name the paddock after this tree. Can… 0 9529 Fellow Perth dweller. Looks like pruns nigra. It's a dark leaf flowering plum. Doesn't get massive and is easily trimmed deciduous tree. Very popular in small gardens in Perth 7 2764 |
