Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 20, 2017 7:49 pm Hi! I am planning to install a drainage channel which I will connect to pvc pipe. I'm hoping to avoid running pipes to the road so was thinking that maybe hooking the pvc into an existing gutter downpipe might be an alternative? I'm in qld and it seems that the downpipes are connected into the stormwater main. Does anyone know if this is allowed or, just as important, if its advisable. I don't want to run pipe to the kerb because i plan to plant large shrubs and trees in the area the pipes would have to be laid. Many thanks Re: Stormwater drainage to downpipe 3Jul 20, 2017 8:49 pm It sounds like the channel will collect surface water. If so, water must first divert to a silt pit before connecting to the stormwater. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage.
