Hello everyone,
This is the third and last plant in our newly inherited garden that I'm having trouble identifying.
I was worried at first that it could be knotweed based on the shape of leaves and colour of petioles, plus the bamboo-like stem. However, it doesn't look to be zigzag branching, and is a solitary stem, so those features are reassuring.
The main stem has been tied up to the fence for support, suggesting it was intentionally planted but I'm not sure of that either.
The photos are of it at the beginning of winter, so it does not appear to be deciduous. The foliage at the top, nearest the sun, appears to get some pinkish colours to it, but the rest of the leaves are lime green despite the cold.
I can't identify any fruit or flowers.
If anyone had any thoughts I'd love to hear them! 😊
