Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 04, 2017 9:19 pm Hi all, need some info on landscaping of a sloping block. The land has total 1.5m slope upwards from the kerb to the back. The builders saying they will build the house on the front and the backyard will be left as is it. The backyard is 13.5m wide and 15 m deep. We are planning to place a small lap pool too. Any ideas of cost of basic landscaping live turfing on a 13.5x 13m area which .5m slope in it? The photo with the retaining wall shows the level of slope on out block. More slope at the front, less at the backyard. What are the basic options to consider? Probably not even a gentle undulation Perhaps 1 small step (1 sleeper or 2 course block) to contain the pool as a boundary. Are you sure Berek? The retaining wall height at the rear boundary is almost my height 1.5m! Clarendon quoted me 30k for site cost (dropedge beam and garage may need to be lowered etc) and said another 30 would come from landscaping and retaining wall at the front !!!!! Re: Landscaping of a sloping backyard 4May 05, 2017 11:58 pm I just read it as the back yard has a 50cm slope Maybe understand if they have to do the house plans with different design and engineering perhaps... but 30k for a wall and turf? i can't see it. Re: Landscaping of a sloping backyard 5May 13, 2017 4:39 pm You have an almost identical block to the one we will be building on, but we don't have any plans for a pool. The back of the house has an 860mm cut to the right corner, but the left corner will be almost nothing from what they tell me. We'll need a retaining wall on the right but the left should be OK. We've been hearing horror stories about the costs involved - 35-70k to do the whole yard?? We just want some turf and the retaining wall! None of these are official quotes, just what I've calculated based on internet guidelines. Howdy all. I am looking for feedback on what people would do to maximise and make an area as flat as possible. First, out the front of the house is a sloping hill, pretty… 0 14315 Give Jonathan a call.
