Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 25, 2017 4:04 pm Hey everyone, We are new to building so apologies if this has been answered before! We are building a single level house. We haven't had an offical site inspection yet as we are still having the exterior done so have only been visiting the property in the weekend ( I think you're not suppose to! ). Our land was totally 120% as flat as flat could be when we bought it. When they've done the slab they have build up the soil/dirt on the block and laid the slab that way. Looks like our neighbours are as well. Any reason thy do it this way? Or is that normal? I am struggling to envision our backyard. We will be decking over the alfresco, extending it by about a metre and a half and wrapping it under the meals window and under the door and stopping there and having stairs go off it. We do not want to add soil and build the yard up to level as that will entail a retaining wall at the back and our builder has said on our original plans we will only need retaining wall at the sides. Any ideas on what can be done when we get to landscaping? Is this a tricky job? Thank you!
