Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 23, 2017 12:45 am Hi everyone. I have recently bought a property with a decent sized front and backyard. Talking about 3000 sqm after taking house, pool and shed into account. Currently the garden is a blank canvas, not really developed well, grading done badly and the soil with a lot of clay holds water in puddles for ages. I am now developing plans of what I will be doing with the garden and have so far planned drainage for the rear (front is already sloping and no issue), conduits for power, water and data from the house to the shed. All this will be done in separate trenches, different depths ...... you get the picture when I say different layers. After the main work has been done, I will get the back yard leveled with a slope towards the front. Now I'm looking at one of the next layers up, which will be the basis of the irrigation system and that is where I will need some information. My bore will be sunk soon, so I can not give anyone any flow rates for now. I'm actually after information of how to get the water through the garden to where I need it. Currently I'm not too concerned about sprinklers, valves and pipe diameters for those circuits. I have the vision of getting a main ring pipe with a large diameter into the ground, which will be serviced by the bore. The individual circuits can then tap into the main ring, wherever I require them. The question here would be, how large can and should this main ring be. In my past rental properties there was usually a 32 mm pipe coming from a valve and servicing a certain amount of sprinklers. Sometimes 32 mm would then branch off into 25 mm ..... I obviously do not want to restrict the water flow, so the diameter of that main ring pipe is probably going to be around 50 to 75 mm ?????? Am I thinking in the right direction, or have I got this wrong? Cheers Tim Post a copy of the quote so we can see what they are including for the $2k 4 12456 there should be ss cable so you can pull up bore pump for service 1 13011 Hi Brainstrust, I had a go at creating my own irrigation plan, keen to get some feedback. It will be run from one 750-800W pump, off 2* 5000L rain tanks. Each zone… 0 33733 |
