They've been in since November, seem to be doing well enough, as there is plenty of new growth and they are blooming now. Now, my question is none of the new growth is on the main trunk. I have a concern that the central trunk won't fill in as it's pretty sparse at the moment. It is still relatively young so time might be all it needs but I don't know if in promoting that central leader whether knocking off any other branches means the tree will stop produces new growth on it. Either upright vase looking or take out the central leader to get it to multibranch at a certain height. All I know for sure is you should deadhead them as they flower on new growth.
