Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 11, 2017 9:09 pm Hi, We are just in the process of beginning to design our first home. We are required to submit landscape plans to our council prior to beginning our build. Are these landscape plans something that you can do yourself or do most people hire someone? Also if we need to hire someone, what kind of price point are we looking at to have a landscape plan drawn ( suitable for council submission)? Thanks for your help Re: Landscape plans for council 2Jan 12, 2017 10:21 am Jacinta.C Hi, We are just in the process of beginning to design our first home. Glad to hear that Blue Gum Design offered a good service for the price. I was a bit sceptical as they were alot cheaper than other companies. But more than happy to give them a go, knowing someone else has used them. Berek we are building in the Macedon Ranges (Victoria). I don't think they will check to see if we complete the landscaping. However, we won't be able to get a building permit without approval on the landscaping plan. I agree, it all seems a bit much. We are building in a small, country town. I cant imagine anyone is going to be concerned if we have a landscaped garden or not. Re: Landscape plans for council 5Jan 13, 2017 3:36 pm Hi, I am almost at lock up stage and had to submit landscape for my build as part of a planning permit. I used some landscaping software and did it myself although I like that sort of thing. I did get some help from a hoticultrist for the plant arrangement but that wasn't really part of any council requirements. Happy to go into more detail if you want to PM me. Phil Re: Landscape plans for council 7Jan 22, 2017 4:11 pm Great result...It's kind of like a silent auction. Have to go in with a certain bid but hope you don't overdo it. I know I certainly went above and beyond but I wanted a native garden anyway so it will just serve as extra motivation to get it completed ASAP Re: Landscape plans for council 9Jan 27, 2017 6:32 pm I was very unsure about drawing our own. However, it seems alot of people do. I think I will just go ahead and draw ours. The savings will be substantial enough to atleast buy some new cushions, rugs etc for the house. Thanks for everyones recommendations Re: Landscape plans for council 11Mar 11, 2017 6:42 pm I don't know if this is still current but I'm doing my own now. I looked at lots of DA's that have been submitted to council and used the landscape designed as a template for my own. I'm in northern beaches council, Sydney and when we went for a pre DA meeting they said it didn't have to be too detailed. Landscape Design Parramatta We have been doing a large amount of landscape design work in Sydney… 0 3 Need advice on the backyard plan above. Should I excavate and cut all of the dirt to level with the house slab or semi-excavate as per photo above? Both left and right… 0 24863 Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do? Thanks for your help 2 10023 |
