Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 03, 2017 8:52 am Hi All, Apologies if this has already been covered in other posts, but couldn't see any obvious one's about this. I have just built a home in Victoria (western suburbs of Melbourne). The house is now completed however the back & front lawn areas, which are still to be landscaped, have patches of concrete where it seems the builders where mixing up their batches. When we asked the builders, they told us that this was minimal and that its our responsibility now, yet we have met with friends who built with other national builders who told us that its the builders legal obligation to remove all concrete from the natural areas. Something to do with EPA regulations or something like that. We have heard this from a couple people who have built homes, who said that their builders removed this. I am about to contract a landscaper, but don't want to bring them in if they can't do the work due to a few patches of hard concrete in the ares they need to work on. Does anyone have any experience with this and or know what the legal stance is. I can add some photos later if needed. Its not a lot of concrete but its visibly obvious that its there in patches. Thanks in advance.. Re: Concrete left by builders 2Feb 20, 2017 6:17 pm which builder the same happen to use they mashed I into the soil as well as the driveway gravel they provide when building. I jacked up and made them remove it. We mentioned it to the building " supervisor " or more to the point the guy that drives around in a car and turns up to look at how bad the build is going and cover up any bad work and shift blame on anyone but the builder. We mentioned it during the build at the end he advised they do it because soil costs to much and they were doing us a favour by leaving it behind as we would save money in soil costs when we goto turf. Made them come back and remove it all I also tilled the front yard myself found about 100 bricks 50 cm under the hard as soil as well as rubbish metal strapping pvc pipes etc. Its all about trying to save money. Thanks you need a fridgie to answer but I would think you vac the whole system then add gas if you have a leak, unless it is new install with the gas already loaded, in that case… 1 3651 Old Home Restoration / Renovation Hi, just discovered all these junks left behind under the floor. Could any of these be asbestos? Best to leave as it is or clean up? Thank you for your thoughts 0 8059 |
