Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Oct 29, 2016 2:58 pm Hi all Please see the attached photo which shows my issue. As you will see the level of the driveway and the slab level are quite different, about 450mm. I was thinking of making stairs across the width of the porch. Has any one else had this issue and resolved it another way? Interested to hear any other suggestions. Re: Front porch accessibility 3Oct 29, 2016 4:48 pm Yep I think I will construct steps the width of the opening, 150m each and 3 steps. I understand that the BCA regulation states for stairs running less than a metre there is no handrailing necessary. I will install a balustrade and railing to the other opening of the porch... Re: Front porch accessibility 4Oct 30, 2016 6:56 am Won't it be back filled? If you added more fill you could eliminate the need for stairs. Re: Front porch accessibility 9Oct 30, 2016 3:09 pm Well if it was me I'd probably concrete all the way up to the porch and maybe just put one step if needed. If on the side you find there is a drop maybe some large wooden planter boxes/ raised garden beds can hide the difference. Thinking of doing that, 190mm step from driveway with 1.2m wide pathway across, one step to porch, and at the end of the porch (base of the pillar) another 190mm step. Get some long brass machine screws and bolt right through the gate and put brass acorn nuts and washers on the other side. It will never come off 1 9070 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7379 |
