The soil is pretty soft and parts of it is very wet and muddy When or how long should I let the soil settle or should I compact it first before putting concrete? I just dont want it to move after its done and get cracks Re: Concrete advice on new build 2Sep 05, 2016 2:05 pm You don't need to wait, you just to make sure ground is prepared appropriately, ie compaction, gravel/crushes limestone etc. Your concrete installer should be able to advise or are you pouring concrete yourself? What kind of concrete, exposed aggregate or is it for footings? I did my own footings for my project, theres a bit of work involved in earth works, formwork, making/pouring/finishing concrete. Saved a bit of money.
