Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Aug 25, 2016 10:05 pm Hi we are playing with landscape designs at the momwnt and are looking at trees for shade in summer and light/warmth in winter. We have a north facing rear lookong at putting them to the north and west. Tree suggestions please. We have been looking at trees from silver birches to maples. Form the back of our house to back fence is 13m. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Deciduous Trees 2Aug 26, 2016 3:26 pm What about the good old Jacaranda? Incredible slash of purple color in spring for a month or so, that some lovely dappled shade follows. Hardy and reasonably fast growing. we planted about 8 on our couple of acres 2 years ago at around 1 foot tall and now they are around 5-6 foot tall. Re: Deciduous Trees 3Aug 26, 2016 7:23 pm Thank you that is a lovely tree. That is the kind of ideas we are after. I have one of those and its quite nice. Fairly easy to get some 2M ones as well if you're looking for instant effect. Personally i love the Silver Birch trees so if i wasn't having a full native landscape plan for my house currently being built i would go for them. Re: Deciduous Trees 6Oct 12, 2016 5:58 pm Thanks Phil no its not to late. We did get some silverbriches in bare root season. We're on a corner block. They are just getting leaves and are looking great. Quite big though. A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor. This form part of every DA requirement 3 223635 |
