Hi Everyone .
I have some horizontal slat gates to install they are pretty heavy 1.8metres tall by 1.5 metres wide.
I'm hanging each gate off 50mm x 50mm rhs I plan to have one side dynabolted to brickwork on my house and the far side the posts will be concreted in the ground.
How many dynabolts should I use and also my brick is very flimsy so I'm worried about the weight cracking/flogging my bricks out. They are bricks with the large holes in the tops so very crumbly/cracky what size dynabolts would you suggest.
My other dilemma is the posts are 2400mm long so I will have approx only 550mm concreted into the ground ( I know this is not ideal ) I don't want them to shift so I was thinking since I cant get the depth how wide should I go and will this help out. My soil is pretty clay ridden so hoping it wont move mch is 550mm depth an issues?
I'm estimating each gate to weight at least 50kg. Can anyone suggest some heavy duty hinges also ?
Thanks
