Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Aug 10, 2016 5:56 pm Hey Everyone. Have just been curing my newly laid slab ( driveway/pathway slab for side of house fairly large concrete area) and discovered to my disappointment bugholes in the surface. Its been about 9 days since it went down and I cured it as per below poured Monday 1st august finished at 4pm left alone until 6pm 2nd August and gave the whole slab a good watering. it then has rained pretty much off an on until the 7th when it started drying out I wet again manually. The last 3 days have been sunny I have only watered in the morning and at night I have noticed bugholes this afternoon on the parts that are drying out quicker than the rest. This probably explains the weird pattern I get when I wet it down again the bugholes must be filling up and wetting the cement underneath which leaves dark spots everywhere. Its a cove textured finish should I be concerned? Ive had concrete at rentals before with bugholes and when you high pressure wash it you just blow the concrete to pieces and in my experiences concrete with bugholes has a dusty finish which is exactly what I wanted to avoid.... To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9862 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10940 |
