Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jun 13, 2016 8:51 pm Hi, I am currently building a property and unfortunately the stormwater pit is situated right outside the front porch. To walk to the porch from the footpath or letterbox you would have to step on the stormwater pit. It's an eyesore, it will be extremely challenging to build a pathway to the doorstep and it could be a potential tripping hazard. Has anybody else had a similar experience? I need to know if it's possible to remove or move the stormwater pit? Thank you. Re: Stormwater pit in frontyard 2Jun 13, 2016 9:22 pm Any pics? If it was my place, thats what I would do The alternative is to order a heel guard grate which has much smaller openings and looks 1000x better too... http://www.reln.com.au/Products/Anti-slip_Heelguard_Grate_for_Stormwater_Pits.aspx Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My build with FHBD viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78344 Re: Stormwater pit in frontyard 5Jun 13, 2016 10:06 pm Thank you for your reply. Do you know who I would get to move it? A plumber? Also would I need to contact my local council to get permission? Re: Stormwater pit in frontyard 6Jun 13, 2016 10:24 pm As its on your property, there will be no need to get permission. Any decent plumber can do the job... You wouldn't know it was there unless you were actually standing on our block. Re: Stormwater pit in frontyard 9Jun 13, 2016 11:51 pm Your site plan should show stormwater drainage and pits, also there could be drainage plan in engineering drawings, you just can't put a pit of that size anywhere. It is a huge pit, is it part of stormwater detention? Because it's not shown on any drawings, it's not mentioned either so I have no information about it at all. Would it be best to go my local council to try to find out more information about it?
