Landscaping package in new estate without bobcat service?

Hi all,

Building a house in Piara Water WA. Currently finalizing our landscaping design, in which the front landscaping is covered by land developer. To my surprise, the contracted landscaper told me they don't include leveling of the lawn area (30mm below finished level) in the package. I was baffled! How can a landscaper contracted to do my lawn don't include a bobcat leveling service like all the proper landscapers out there? How silly it is that I have to hire other bobcat guy to level the ground for me before they can start?!
Is this common for all the new estates out there?

Also, just for comparison, how much typically you pay for stone pavers & rainbow stones these days? Quoted almost 1k just for a stepping stone from side gate to letter box!

Appreciate your feedbacks
That does not make sense at all! Has Your builder completed a final site clean? If not see if you can get them to do the exc for the lawn area. Otherwise speak with the bobcat operator on the day and ask him to do it for you, usually a slab of beer will suffice depending on the area.
The stepping stone cost sounds excessive! I am in victoria but an average cost for a stepstone installed on mortar would be around $35.
Rainbow stone is the most expensive around. Direct from our quarry in gosnells you are looking at $145 per tonne ex-pit. Then you have the markup the garden centre would put. Then delivery. (1 tonne is approx 0.6 m3)
