Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 18, 2016 5:38 pm I recently filled in a pool with clay. It also has about 5cm of soil on top from existing garden beds that were removed. The soil is fairly decent quality with compost mixed in. It's has a fair bit of composted bark so is quite coarse. I want to lay turf but I'm not sure what to do next. I'm also wondering whether I should have done something to the clay to improve drainage. Some areas of the yard have sunk a bit and have puddles after rain. I've read through the threads on how to prepare soil but they seem to mostly cover replacing lawns with existing soil. I'm also a bit confused about what specific products to use. I rang one company today and they said they would place gypsum and sand/soil 80/20 blend on top of clay then lay turf. Comparing this advice to the threads here I didn't think this would have enough compost. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks 2 1469 Hi everyone, Looking for some advise. We are about to build an above ground pool in our backyard. There is a private sewer line running under the pool at 1.6m… 0 7975 I'm about to put down some Merbau. Is it necessary to oil underneath the boards before laying? 0 760 |
