Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 29, 2016 6:15 pm Hi everyone, wondering whether I can get some reassurance and advice. We are planning on installing a sapphire buffalo lawn in the next few weeks. I was keen to follow Fu manchu's soil prep instruction. We basically have a slopey area where we had built a retaining wall and now leveled by adding lawn mix (Sandy loam with 60 percent screened soil, 40 percent compost) and organic compost. My concern is upon learning that I intended to add organic compost to the lawn mix, the guy doing the bob catting said it was against his advice as it would burn the lawn. So now I'm concerned that we would ruin our new turf. Do you think that could be a possibility? I ordered 11 cubes of compost for 85 square meters of area but we didn't use anywhere near that. Maybe half, and the rest was the lawn mix. Also, if anyone can help. How much perlite and powerfeed would you add to this area? thanks Re: Too much compost-re Fu manchu's soil prep instruction 3Feb 29, 2016 8:26 pm +1, the soil level will sink as the compost breaks down though..
