Thanks in advance

If you are going to grow them alongside your house then just be aware that they should be grown on the outside of a trellis etc as the branches or vines can do a lot of damage as they grow. A client of mine had a nice Victorian style home with ornate timber fretwork on their verandah. They planted a Wisteria which grew among the fretwork. In only a couple of years the timberwork was mostly destroyed. Our neighbour has one draped over our side fence and when it flowers it looks beautiful. At certain times of the year the vines grow 6" in a day or so. Will attempt to try doing freestanding one to our front yard if not trellis to the backyard so everyone can see its beauty. Did you know that Japanese/Chinese Wisteria loose leaves in winter but an Aussie/Native varity does not: http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/fact-sheets/in-the-garden/climbers/native-wisteria/ Burke also echos Stewie's warnings about them being vigorious climbers |
