Been browsing this forum for garden/lawn tips and it has been very helpful.
I have a few questions regarding maintainance on my buffalo lawn:
1. I have killed some Kikuyu in my buffalo with round up. Now there are dead spots in my lawn. Nothing has grown over it in the past two months.
How do I get the buffalo go take over the dead spots? Am I suppose to completely clear the dead grass then perhaps top dress with compost + powerfeed/seasol?
2. Some parts of my lawn particularly where it is harder under foot have more thatch. Is it possible to dethatch just using a plastic rake or am I just wasting my time? I notice a decent amount of thatch coming out but it definitely isn't getting all of it out. Or would I have to get something like a dethatch rake?
My soil is clay (Sydney south west), I have aerated the lawn by hand last week and top dressed a bit with naked farmer organic soil but think I should have used a lot more. Overtime I plan to top dress with sand/organic mix and perhaps zeolite to improve soil and then powerfeed/seasol/molasses 6-8x a year.
Any help appreciated. Thanks
