Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 04, 2015 2:52 pm HI everyone, I moved into my own place some months ago and the lawn (buffalo) had a lot of weeds and that's still the case. I sprayed with a broadleaf herbicide but there are some weeds that it had no effect one. I have not been able to identify them. The worst culprit is Weed 1. Weed1. Pulling it out after it rains and before it seeds is probably the easiest way unless someone knows a plant specific herbicide for it. http://vro.agriculture.vic.gov.au/dpi/v ... rley_grass 2nd one we have at our place too. Best way to remove it ( non-chemical ) is to dig it out with a garden fork before it seeds. I think it is a type of crabgrass and is a complete b1tch to eradicate. http://thelawnguide.com.au/weeds-pests- ... grass.html Stewie Re: Weed Identification in lawn please 5Dec 08, 2015 9:27 am Thanks Stewie. After looking online at a number of pics I think you are right. The first one I think might be "little barley" and the second one is either summer grass or crabgrass. There is no way I can manage these by hand. The lawn is too far gone. There are thousands of them in my lawn. If there is no herbicide solution I will have to re-turf which I can't afford right now. Thank you so much for your help. Champion. Stewie D 1st one looking at the plant alone and I'd hazard a guess and say Winter grass but the seed stems look more like a type of barley grass. Its called Surflan AS Herbicide. However I can't find where I can buy it in Australia. Anybody know where I might be able to purchase this product here in Australia? Here it is in the USA. http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/surflan-as-herbicide-p-1555.html Hello.
