Hello all, long story short I've moved into a house with plenty of lawn area that looks like it's suffered a few years of neglect.
The lawn in the back yard is mostly couch and apart from being quite spongy from lack of de-thatching it is thriving. The issue is with the lawn out front, it appears to be combination of buffalo and weeds (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm new at this ) and looks like it's never received an ounce of fertilizer or proper attention.
Here's a few pics

Given that it's almost summer here in Perth, would it be too late to consider verti-mowing? I've read up on the issue where I can and as far as I can tell the lawn is suffering from too-much thatch and very poor soil. Any help would be greatly appreciated! . I run retic 3 times a week as per bore water restrictions and the lawn receives atleast 10mm of water per session.
