Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 86Mar 10, 2016 9:30 am I think with all those I posted there is a fair amount of background work to get them to that stage then a reasonable amount of time maintaining them to that high level. I have one in my archives somewhere of a train that apart from being quite large is also very detailed. God knows how long the gardener spends on it each year. I'll see if I can find it. Need some suggestions on selecting these very light coloured outdoor tiles for the alfresco room. Would cleaning be an issue? Anyone have this kind of coloured tile for yr alfresco? We currently have light coloured tiles for the outdoor and it is hard to keep it clean, with 2 dogs and a pool it would be a pain. So we went with a dark grey tile. viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 94Mar 18, 2016 7:28 am Franky40 Our internal tiles are light coloured and would have loved a light coloured outdoor tile. Our outdoor room is facing west and undercover so I think it will mostly be shaded so lighting might not be an issue? The cleaning factor would be I guess so we would prob need to pressure clean it often? The alternative is to go with what you suggested and pick darker tiles like the woodline tiles below? Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 95Mar 18, 2016 7:44 am Haha Orph - similar minus quite a few things! If you are good at keeping on top of your cleaning then I would say go with the lighter tiles. They look much nicer and flow nicely through indoor and outdoor. Hubby and I both work full time (long hours), kids activities and commitments means we don't always do the house chores as planned. I am keen the outdoor room is very much part of the house and is used often. In this house I find we don't use our outdoor room as much as we'd like to as it is not always cleaned. Practicality vs looks! Always tough to balance viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 96Mar 18, 2016 9:32 am With lighter coloured tiles apart from the usual cleaning, you also have to be choosey about the plants and mulch etc you use in the garden beds alongside these tiles. A few people I know have gardens similar to some of the above and their light coloured tiles and concrete ain't so light coloured anymore. Some of the bark chips from native gum trees can leave dark brown or red tannin stains too that are very hard to remove. Even some outdoor timber furniture left stains after it rained. The house bricks are mettalix bronze and might be dark so we shiukd opt for a light coloured tile for the outdoor room? I prob prefer Driftwood as it would work well with the Venus Bianco creamy indoor tiles?
