Hi there, we had a retaining wall constructed approx 2 years ago. It's core filled besser blocks, then rendered/bagged in a cream/light sand colour. The render has never looked great, the colour seems uneven/patchy and seems to have efflorescence - please see picture (ignore the pot plant, it's not normally there).

We'd like to paint the wall to even out is appearance, but not sure where to start. Can anyone provide advice on what type of paint to use? And should it be sealed first? My main concern is that sometimes the patches/joins appear to be a little damp and I would hate for the paint to come off or bubble or something. That said, it seems the landscaper did the right thing by laying ag pipe and blue metal behind the wall, and waterproofed the back of it with black sealer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
