My husband originally wanted concrete aggregate like the driveway but I don't tbink this will look great and you can't get rid of it once it's there.. Side paths 2Jul 22, 2015 2:19 am We're just getting plain concrete, with semi circular sections left unconcreted (two against fence outside kids' windows, and one between them against the house outside bathroom). I'm planning to put ferns in the two semicircles against the fence, and a really fragrant shade-loving flower called winter daphne outside the bathroom so I can smell it when I take a bath! Advantage of side path for us is access to the back yard with a wheelbarrow etc.

If your doing a side path maybe you can use it to protect your house if you are on a slab and if your site is in a difficult site regarding soil classification.
