Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 01, 2015 9:55 pm Hi everyone, We are in the process of getting a house build through a builder and we have opted to go with 3rd party contractor/tradie to get our fencing / landscaping / driveway / Paving done. The builder is expensive and we think that we can get it done for from outside with little expense than the builder. We have to give 3rd party quotes to the bank for the construction loan along with the tender from the builder. I want to know how this works. Example : We get quote from a tradesman for driveway and paving for $5000 and we provide it to the bank and all good bank approves the loan. Obviously the tradesman wont give us correct quote as it would be just a guesstimate how much it is going to cost. The house is going to be build in 6 months of time and i know usually the quote are valid only till 90 days. When the time comes I can go back to the tradesman or someone else and they do it for higher price so basically i pay the difference from my pocket. Is there a different approach i can take? Can anyone recommend us any tradie/contractor who can give us quote for the above things we need to get it done. We are building in Tarneit. Do tradie/contractor know this things already like ppl take quotes from them just to show it to the bank. I would ask them to add 10% to their quotes to give to the bank, so that you know that the amount approved by the bank should be enough in six months time (you obviously don't need to go back to the person who gave you the quote/s). You may even be able to get a cheaper quote when it comes to actually doing it. My blog: tashandpaul.wordpress.com Re: Fencing / Landscaping / Driveway / Paving 6Jul 27, 2015 4:41 pm Thanks for the info. Our land is not titled yet and it might get titled in september. We have already selected the builder and will be getting the contract soon. So before the land gets titled we are ready for build. Can the company give us quote in our situation because they wont be able to access the land for measuring and stuffs like that. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12409 As most others have posted above the install isn't compliant.
