Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 19, 2015 4:27 pm Hi all... we are currently awaiting a DA decision for a boundary retaining wall, on the boundary of a secondary street ( we are on a corner block). When we purchased this house in 2008, we had an ID survey done but not pegged out. The survey seems to show that 2 of our 3 fences are on the boundary, and it shows the 3rd fence sitting 2.1m inside the boundary. This is the boundary where we will be putting the retaining wall and new fence. Is it possible to use the corner points of our back and right side fence to peg out our boundary which we need to do so that we put the retaining wall in the right place. I would not be inclined to just measure 2.1m from our existing fence, but I would rather peg out our left side boundary using the other boundaries/fences as indicators. Or should I get a surveyor in to peg it. Council advised me not to waste my money and to use the ID survey to peg it myself. What would be the least painful way to do this ..I am thinking laser based measuring instruments ?? rather than trying to keep a long piece of string straight below is my survey. So the retaining wall is on the back portion (16.5m) of the 29m boundary. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor.
