Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 26, 2015 1:03 pm Hey All, Been stressing a little over the past couple of days. I laid new Sir Walter buffalo (240sqm) on Saturday, after I had just water it in well, we received about 31mm (31.8mm exact) but since then it has been raining also very heavily since I had laid the turf on an average daily we have been receiving 11.7mm Wettest day: 31.8 mm 22nd March 2015 Wet days: 3 Dry days: 2 Daily average: 11.7 mm Total rainfall: 58.4 mm I had followed FU Manchu thread on adding Organic compost, adding Myco defence, Chicken manure, zeolite, cultivated the compost with original soil to 250mm then firmed the top soil a little. - I will be adding Seasol + Mollasses on Sunday. I had pulled up one of the corners where it was browner than most and it had a real bad smell. Is this too much water? I am worried that it will kill the new lawn. This is what it currently looks like: http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q225 ... qt24mi.jpg I was told it would brown a little as it's stressed, but as I worry just need reassurance that it's ok and doing fine? How long should it take for the roots to take hold of the soil. Too much rain for new lawn? 2Mar 27, 2015 6:39 pm Brown turf roll edges is normal, same with the odd small brown patch here and there. Don't stress about that it will recover. As for the rain, its probably a tad too much but shouldn't be an issue, new lawns can take 25mm a day.. The odour isn't great though.. Lay off the water, including the seasol and molasses. Let it dry out a little then apply. The soil needs to stay moist though.. just not slops wet. I reckon it will be fine, looks very normal from the pics. Hi, does anyone have any experience with using Trex rain escape or EPDM rubber to waterproof a deck so you have dry space underneath.
