Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 22, 2015 11:02 pm Hi everyone , We are on verge of finishing our new home and have tried to sketch a landscaping plan for the house (low cost ). On the front we don't want natural grass lawn and would probably plant some water-wise natives. Would love to have further feedback. Is it plant types, other suggestions on what to do? My thought is generally think of how long you will be in the house (might determine how much you'll spend on this) and how you want to use the outside of the house. We live outside during the day so love having nice plants and grass to look at. The vege patch looks huge! Not a bad thing but id say pull it .5m off the side fence and make a spilt in the middle or you will have to walk through it to access the plants in the middle and back. Hope it helps Re: Landscape design help 4Mar 02, 2015 3:58 am Thanks mb. Specifically I wanted to ask if the plan is good enough/acceptable. Thanks for the vege patch advice. Now I am thinking of moving it towards the left side. By the way, is it a good idea to make a retaining wall box (limestone) for raised vege patch or it is OK just to have a garden edge. Would also like to have some suggestions for the front of the house; especially for the blank area behind letterbox. Also would be great if you could recommend some plants/shrubs (preferably no watering required) for the side paths. I am in WA. Should I excavate and cut all of the dirt to level with the house slab or semi-excavate as per photo above? Both left and right… 0 24832 Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do? Thanks for your help 2 10008 |
