Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 04, 2015 11:35 pm I am looking for some guidance from people who can help me with a couple of things. We are in the process of organising a build and i am now thinking a head about what i would like my backyard to be like. When looking at the plans it appears that the it has quite a steep drop off. I am thinking i am going to need to retain along the back fence which is currently showing a road reserve and fill, so i was thinking instead of paying for soil can i use the export soil from the build for the back? or if anyone else has any options please feel free to share as I am so new to this and have no idea what i am doing. I am attaching elevations and site pics if they help. Keeping all the soil is one thing but seeing as your backyard is pretty small ,where are you going to store it after the house is built while you build the wall? Personally I'd build the wall first after consulting the builder regarding where the stormwater and sewer lines are going from your house or any other utility that may need to cross the rear boundary. But really struggling to picture what its going to look like.
