Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 21, 2015 2:17 pm Hi all, We're soon to be building in Officer, Melbourne and was wondering if anyone can recommend a concrete company, or if you could share your experiences and tell me what it cost you? Also how much did you allocate for landscaping? Our lot size is 512 so not too much to landscape! We're trying to keep to a tight budget but it needs to look good at the same time. Any tips on would be appreciated! thanks Re: Cost of driveway and landscape 2Jan 31, 2015 4:45 pm Bump!!! can anyone tell me what they paid on driveway and landscape? Re: Cost of driveway and landscape 3Jan 31, 2015 6:36 pm Btd1, Here in NSW, driveways are charged anything from $80 to $120 per sqm for colour thru concrete. I cant see prices being that much different in Victoria. So, you need to work out how long and wide your driveway will be first. Don't know about landscaping as we are doing ours by ourselves post handover. I think this is the cheapest way if you're a bit handy yourself. Hope this helps. We too plan on doing part ourselves, although we're not that handy!! The front needs to be done once we move in and I think we'll grass the majority of the back and worry about the rest as we go. Re: Cost of driveway and landscape 7Sep 11, 2015 10:04 am landscaping is expensive. Even for areas you dont want to do much to. figure out what you want to do, and do it yourself. It will be cheaper, albeit still expensive. Creator of superduperonium, expert at expert things, nobel laureate, can hold my breath for 10 minutes. Re: Cost of driveway and landscape 8Sep 11, 2015 10:37 am We have a larger block than you and we are having aggregate concrete which is quite $$$. We will have the driveway which will be standard length and width, but also will veer off to form a path down the side of the garage for one metre or so. The concrete will also form our front porch and there will be a path going around the front of the house and then one metre down the other side. This is costing about $8,000.00. However, this probably has the builders' margin in it so that they make some money out of it. Plain or coloured concrete is much cheaper.
