Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 11, 2015 7:34 pm Hey Guys We have a backyard which is quite small.. We want to put a greenhouse and probably a garden shed there to make some use.. Imagine it as a shape of a toothbrush on its side.. the long handle is 16m x 1m and the brush part is 5m x 6.5m (with 2m x 3m part already concreted for clothesline) So in total area is about 48sqm of top soil and weed. Around the backyard is wooden fence sharing with two other neighbours.. Access to this area is quite narrow.. Only standard single door size access .. Just mentioning this here so that we have an idea about access for material and tools.. Basically no double door access thus no big machinery can come through for digging etc.. Now as per our understanding its best to have a slab base for both greenhouse and garden shed? Also we don't want to be weeding this area.. and it gets wet (the long handle part) quite often due to our neighbour watering his plants and it flowing into that area... So 1) Is plain concreting the best option for this place ? Will they be able to do it with the given access? 2) Can we concrete edge to edge from house to fence for the entire location? 3) Any other options instead of concreting? Someone was suggesting mulching the whole place.. or large pavers the whole place?? Didn't know how it will look pavers + existing plain concrete.. 4) Any other design suggested for backyard? We just thought of a shed and greenhouse to make good use of it.. 5) Anyone knows the cost involved in this project by whichever option is good? 6) Do both of these (shed and greenhouse) actually suit best on concrete area or something else can also work? We still would want to do something to the entire area to stop weeding and mud due to water flow.. Thanks It will be neat but you won't have much freeboard. At least they are not weep holes. Are you in a high intensity rainfall region? The regulatory slope is only required… 3 8265 We've had decent weather for last 7 weeks and now the drvieway has been cut out we had an evening of 50mm of rain including all the water from half the street, ground is… 0 4474 Just get as close as you can without hitting the posts. Once you are close to the edge of the path the chance of cracking is minimised. 7 9176 |
